The following are several search functions you can modify when searching for files with SearchMyFiles: exclude folders, use wildcards to find subdirectories and files, exclude files by extension, exclude files if they don't contain certain text, search for files larger and/or smaller than a particular size, include/exclude files identified as read-only, hidden, compressed, encrypted, and archived, as well as search by date created/modified/accessed. Regular searches are obviously supported, but SearchMyFiles also includes a duplicate file finder to make it easy to remove cloned files. ![]() Search results appear in separate window.ĭespite its tiny 100 KB file size, SearchMyFiles is a portable file search utility for Windows that hosts tons of detailed features. It's also simple to accidentally download music you already have, and if you suspect you've done that, or that you have old backups you no longer need, a duplicate file finder can clean up the copies. It's really easy for a hard drive to become overwhelmed with videos and music since those types of files take up lots of space. This program from Auslogics, aptly called Duplicate File Finder, does just that. There are lots of programs out there that can search for files, but not all of them are made to find duplicate files. ![]() It would seem the features would stop here, but Everything is even free for commercial use, includes a portable download option, and lets you save searches as bookmarks for easy recall.īe sure to decline any third-party software offers during installation if you only want the file search tool. ![]() ![]() ![]() Also, the Photography Plan lets you use Photoshop which I use from time to time, like to remove a spot with the clone stamp tool. I realize that, generally speaking, there's more features on Lightroom, like the slideshow windows, etc. Also, Lightroom has more cataloging features, like more colors to tag your pictures. For instance, I use the "white" slider a lot on LR and can't seem to find it on DXO. I have been using DXO PhotoLabs for a few days and I realize Lightroom has way more features. I'd like to know if some of you went that route, and if yes, if you miss something from Lightroom. I'm happy with it but Adobe's photography plan is starting to be a little expensive, and I'd rather buy a software once and for all than pay a monthly subscription. I'd like to see if this software can replace Lightroom, which I currently use to edit my pictures. r/RoomDetective - What can you deduce from a photograph? r/Redditor_Pics - Redditors posting pics of themselves, family, and friends r/QualityPhotos - Professionals, intermediates, and beginners are encourage share their best work. r/PictureChallenge - Weekly topic/category of pictures r/PhonePics - Pictures taken from cell phones r/PhotoCritique - Post a picture and receive constructive criticism/advice for improvement r/GuessMyFirstName - Redditors share self portraits, you guess their name! r/ITookaPicture - Give and receive feedback r/Instagramshots - for sharing your instagrams! r/365PhotoProject - Year long marathon of taking and sharing photos r/PicRequests - Requests and assistance for photo editing r/PostProcessing - Noise reduction, sharpening, exposure blending, image retouching etc. r/Gimp (Free Download Here) - A free image manipulation program ![]() ![]() r/AmateurPhotography - A place for amateur photographers to share tips, images, tricks, advice and give advice r/Shutterbug - Lighthearted/fun subreddit for discussing photography culture and practice r/Photography - The main hub of all things photography related r/PhotoClass2023 - Join them as they revisit /r/photoclass and more r/PhotoClass - Intro to Photography Reddit style, w/29 lessons r/Cameras - Reviews, articles, blogs, videos, of cameras and gear r/AskPhotography - Ask anything here! X transformer and enhance detailed fix all of that for me. By default you get a lot of jittering and jagged edges that look terrible at 100%, along with all the other x trans related issues. One thing xtransformer and adobe enhance details handles better than others is the aliasing of angled and especially thin lines. I came to these results based on pure quality of images, how well it handles aliasing, sharpening, general detail, color, etc. Here is the order of quality from my extensive testing from when I switched to Fuji a couple months ago. You could use that and then keep using Lightroom as you always have. It's relatively cheap compared to other software's and handles batch processing pretty well. For what's it's worth, x transformer by far creates the best files from the Fuji raws out of everything I tested. ![]() ![]() ![]() Play in reverse - whether the animation plays in reverse. ![]()
![]() Whatever is currently at the head of the kill ring. In Dired+ those commands also set variable diredp-last-copied-filenames to the You should have copied file names to the kill ring using M-0 w or M-x diredp-copy-abs-filenames-as-kill. ![]() So you do not need to be in a Dired buffer to paste files to a directory. With a prefix arg, C-y instead prompts you for the target directory for the paste. The "current directory" here is what dired-current-directory returns: the inserted subdirectory where the cursor is located, or the Dired main directory if the cursor is not in a subdir listing. You can use C-y (command diredp-yank-files) to paste files, whose absolute names you have copied to the kill ring, to the current directory. You can paste it using the mouse, but it is handier to use C-M-y from library second-sel.el. The secondary selection doesn't depend on the region or the position of the cursor - you can paste it as many times as you want, regardless of changes to the kill-ring. Tip: (This is not needed if you use Dired+ - see my other answer here.) If you intend to copy (or move) files from multiple directories to the same target directory, and you might be doing other things with the kill-ring in between, so that the copied target dir name might no longer be first in the kill-ring, then use the secondary selection to select the target dir name. ![]() ( dired-do-copy checks for existing files of the same name in the target dir, etc.) This is, I think, as simple as what you describe ( C-w to copy marked file names followed by C-y in the target Dired listing), but the order is opposite: you copy the target directory name first, and then paste it to the C ( dired-do-copy) command. (Pasting it after that default dir name dims that default name - it is ignored.) You can just paste it, without bothering to remove the default directory that is inserted in the minibuffer. At the prompt, use C-y to paste the (absolute) name of the target directory. Use C (command dired-do-copy) to copy the marked files. Go to the Dired buffer that lists the files you want to copy. (You can copy a dir name from any Dired-listing subdir header line in the same way.) This copies the absolute name of that target directory. With the cursor on the directory header line for a listing of the target directory, use w (command dired-copy-filename-as-kill). Go first to a Dired buffer that lists the target directory. You can do the following in vanilla Dired (no 3rd-party library needed): Which uses the classical approach of pressing C when two dired windows separated vertically using the option (setq dired-dwim-target t). There is a related question How to quickly copy/move file in Emacs Dired? I am looking for a solution to first copy the items then to paste them at an appropriate dired buffer. ![]() If the path of the destination buffer is very long or there are too many opened dired buffer, this approach is complicated. The problem with the classical Copy option C in dired is that as soon as it is pressed, it asks for the destination. I mean marking some items (files and buffer) by m then copying them by M-w (or another shortcut), then going to another dired buffer (which is not necessarily in a window side-by-side by the window of previous dired buffer(s)) then yanking all copied file by C-y (or another shortcut) there? This is a simple task that many file explorers in different OS can do. Is there a simple M-w C-y approach to copy paste files and directories between two dired buffers? ![]() ![]() Kyle Plush parents do it how Kyle Plush parents did it in the old days, write it down on an index card and the card is handed to someone somehow sending the person dispatching on that channel, he said. Kokonis, psychologist and author of Arcadia, My Arcadia and Out of Arcadia: The American Odyssey of Angelo Vlahos You can take us out of Arcadia, but you cannot take Arcadia out of us." In the English language as well as many others, the word odyssey has come to refer to an epic voyage. Among the most noteworthy elements of the text are its non-linear plot, and the influence on events of choices made by women and serfs, besides the actions of fighting men. The Odyssey was written in a poetic dialect of Greek-a literary amalgam of Aeolic Greek, Ionic Greek, and other Ancient Greek dialects-and comprises 12,110 lines of dactylic hexameter. The details of the ancient oral performance, and the story's conversion to a written work inspire continual debate among scholars. Many scholars believe that the original poem was composed in an oral tradition by an aoidos, perhaps a rhapsode, and was more likely intended to be heard than read. ![]() It continues to be read in the Homeric Greek and translated into modern languages around the world. In his absence, it is assumed he has died, and his wife Penelope and son Telemachus must deal with a group of unruly suitors, the Mnesteres or Proci, who compete for Penelope's hand in marriage. It takes Odysseus ten years to reach Ithaca after the ten-year Trojan War. The poem mainly centers on the Greek hero Odysseus and his journey home after the fall of Troy. It is believed to have been composed near the end of the 8th century BC, somewhere in Ionia, the Greek coastal region of Anatolia. The poem is fundamental to the modern Western canon, and is the second oldest extant work of Western literature, the Iliad being the oldest. It is, in part, a sequel to the Iliad, the other work ascribed to Homer. The Odyssey is one of two major ancient Greek epic poems attributed to Homer. In 2018, when BBC Culture polled experts around the world to find literature's most enduring narrative, the Odyssey topped the list.įreebase Rate this definition: 0.0 / 0 votes Adaptations and re-imaginings continue to be produced across a wide variety of media. The first English translation of the Odyssey was in the 16th century. The Odyssey is regarded as one of the most significant works of the Western canon. This focus is especially remarkable when contrasted with the Iliad, which centres the exploits of soldiers and kings during the Trojan War. Scholars still reflect on the narrative significance of certain groups in the poem, such as women and slaves, who have a more prominent role in the epic than in many other works of ancient literature. Given widespread illiteracy, the poem was performed by an aoidos or rhapsode and was more likely to be heard than read.Ĭrucial themes in the poem include the ideas of nostos (νόστος "return"), wandering, xenia (ξενία "guest-friendship"), testing, and omens. In antiquity, Homer's authorship of the poem was not questioned, but contemporary scholarship predominantly assumes that the Iliad and the Odyssey were composed independently and that the stories formed as part of a long oral tradition. ![]() The Odyssey was originally composed in Homeric Greek in around the 8th or 7th century BC and, by the mid-6th century BC, had become part of the Greek literary canon.
